Welders lay out and fabricate metal weldments and assemblies. He executes the requirements of the work orders and processes material accordingly. He must be familiar with structural brake forming, welding, and other structural fabrication processes. He will use drawings, specs, and/or verbal instructions as well as exercising judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals. Based on instructions/information given, he will make fabricated products using hand tools, machine tools, and welding equipment, as well as working with other departments. He should have the ability to check his own work. He must meet deadlines and document progress. He must be flexible, dependable, time conscious, and be able to move from project to project with minimal supervision. He must work closely with the shop management.
